FAQs

  • No you don’t.

Physiotherapists are primary contact practitioners meaning that we are qualified to assess and diagnose you as your first port of call!

Referrals are required if you are wishing to have your physiotherapy treatment covered by Medicare (through the Enhanced Primary Care Plan), WorkCover (or other self-insured companies), ICWA (Motor Vehicle Accidents), or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

Feel free to call us to discuss this further.

  • Private health insurance policies with extras (or ancillary) cover will provide a rebate for physiotherapy. We can process your claim “on the spot” using our HICAPS facility.

We accept referrals covered by Medicare’s Chronic Disease GP Management Plan (formerly Enhanced Primary Care Program or EPC). Please note we are not a bulk billing practice. Payment in full is required on the day of treatment, and claims will be submitted electronically to Medicare, to claim the gap amount.

  • You should wear clothing that your feel comfortable in and allows your Physiotherapist to properly assess your injury (eg. if you have a knee injury, it is best to wear shorts or pants that roll up easily).

If you have had any imaging done prior to your appointment (xrays, MRIs etc), it can help your Physiotherapist if you bring these reports along as well.

If you have any other information that you think might help your Physiotherapist assess and treat your condition, feel free to bring it along also.
